Nautica SEO Copywriter
Nautica is seeking a SEO Copywriter to be a part of the Marketing team in our NY office. This role is responsible for brainstorming, creating, and transforming ideas into written content that relationally engages and inspires people with our brand, products, articles, and marketing communications across Nautica.com, Wholesale channels, social platforms, blogs and print channels, creating a trust-building customer experience. The SEO copywriter will be responsible for improving the performance of our natural search channel (SEO) through the creation, development and measurement of SEO-optimized and editorially relevant content across all our online properties. Additionally, this role is responsible for the following:
Developing and communicating the Nautica brand message through consistent and elevated product copy and landing page copy across a variety of product categories including Men’s Sportswear, Women’s Sportswear, Accessories, Kids and Home.
Edit and proofread all product descriptions, content, and on-line marketing materials Use correct spelling, grammar, punctuation and structure throughout all materials created.
Write creative copy for email campaigns that will effectively drive click-through rates and sales.
Collaborate with Ecommerce and Marketing team members to create effective and compelling content for the website.
Incorporate SEO best practices seamlessly into copy
Develop concise and compelling copy to support Nautica Search Engine Marketing efforts.
Create and maintain a content database for all product descriptions.
Responsible for all wholesale product copy for the Nautica shops on our whole partner sites (ie, The Nautica Shop on Macy’s.com)
5 years creative writing experience, some product description experience required (ecommerce or catalog), preferably in apparel and/or luxury
Content or on-line editorial copywriting experience a plus
Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism or related field preferred
Knowledge of ecommerce and SEO / Content Marketing best practices including competitive strategies, marketing, usability testing, industry trends, meta-data, titles, H# tags, Alt= tags, and schema mark-up
Strong writing and editing skills with actual experience copywriting and proofreading preferred
Understand writing semantically to influence search engine indexing for voice search and knowledge graph results
Able to effectively research and write new content
Must be a creative thinker, who enjoys writing content that engages people and draws them in.
Strong attention to detail and be able to perform research with an eye for what's trending in the automotive world
A self-starting team player and able to prioritize and complete multiple projects well and on time
Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
