Briggs & Stratton will provide a challenging HR internship with projects that are critical to the company's strategy and success. This program is designed to provide interns with a broad perspective of HR initiatives. Projects may be in HR functional areas such as: Organizational Development, Training, Recruiting, Employee Relations, Employee Benefits and Performance Management. Assignments are based on an individual's education, experience, and career goals, aligned with business needs.
Our ideal HR Intern will be a Junior or Senior working toward a degree in Human Resources Management and able to work around 20 hours per week during the school year and full-time during the summer.
Provide assistance with HR projects
Evaluate current HR process and recommend/implement improvements to streamline and gain efficiency
Complete research projects on HR best practices and legal trends
Write drafts, edit, and proofread policies, procedures, and promotional materials
Assist with recruitment and on-boarding processes
Become familiar with HR systems
Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required
Job Skills Requirements
Strong organizational skills
Creative and energetic
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiar with Gmail and other Google Apps
Detail oriented with the ability to follow projects through to completion
Ability to multitask and utilize resourcefulness when necessary
Must be a Junior or Senior in college working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0
This is an entry level position therefore previous experience is helpful but not required
