Outbound Transportation Forecast Analyst
The Outbound Transportation/Forecast Analyst reports to the Manager of Outbound Transportation and is responsible for supporting the execution of accurately forecasting the number of cartons and shipment schedules for stores. He/She will work with Distribution Center Shipping Managers, the Service Excellence Team and Store Management to prepare monthly shipping schedules and prepare daily confirmed cartons or daily forecasted cartons so that stores can correctly plan labor needs. The Outbound Forecast Analyst will work with the Manager of Outbound Transportation to provide analysis of Distribution Center equipment needs and to insure that Forecast Accuracy is maintained according to established metrics.
The Outbound Forecast Analyst will perform the following duties personally or through influence:
Specific job functions:
Provide support for the execution of store delivery transportation operations, communicating with the DC's, vendors, stores, and with carriers.
Develop sufficient processes to support the execution of the overall transportation operations and strategy, including planning and forecasting analysis to support current requirements and future growth.
Support the development and execution of annual transportation budgets, metrics and KPI's for carrier evaluations and other department activities.
Create reports daily using the defined schedule to create confirmed cartons reports or forecasted cartons report.
Develop processes and reports to analyze and support the company's strategy for utilization and efficiency in the leased trailer program.
Be able to identify issues and escalate as needed and follow up on issues to conclusion.
Maintain reporting and provide to leadership on regular basis for monitoring store delivery schedules, forecast accuracy, trailer utilization and facilitating other requests as needed.
Work closely with DC operations and carrier partners to optimize use of backhaul strategies.
Coordinate supporting aspects of the company's outbound domestic transportation programs and ensure maximum efficiency in the movement of goods:

Evaluate and recommend new or revised processes and procedures to ensure compliance with established standards.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access skills.
