Part-time Faculty - Business Law
The candidate will instruct a curriculum which is centrally developed with specific learning objectives. This course provides students with an overview of the legal, ethical, and related statutory and regulatory environment in which businesses, organizations, and individuals within them function. After completion of this course, students will be able to understand the general structure of the court systems in the US, describe the alternative means of resolving disputes and their respective advantages and disadvantages, evaluate the frameworks for regulatory compliance and corporate social responsibility, examine the principal areas of business law, and understand intellectual property rights This undergraduate-level course is 5 weeks. Will provide timely and detailed feedback on a weekly basis and offer student support via classroom, phone, and email. Utilize classroom learning system technology (provided by university), the Internet, and MS Office software. Perform other duties as assigned or apparent. Should have a Juris Doctorate, Master of Laws, and/or Doctorate in Law which includes a Doctor of Judicial Science, Doctor of Jurisprudence, PhD/Law, or a Doctor of Comparative Law, AND a current Certificate of Good Standing from the State Bar or highest court of the state indicating active status (unless inactivity is due to judgeship) with eligibility to practice law OR a Juris Doctorate, Master of Laws, and/or Doctorate in Law which includes a Doctor of Judicial Science, Doctor of Jurisprudence, PhD/Law, or a Doctor of Comparative Law, AND a copy of the State Bar web site with current licensure status of active (unless inactivity is due to judgeship) and eligible to practice.
