Principal Sales Engineer','170000DP','!*!SUMMARY:   

The Principal Sales Engineer will be the primary technical

resource for the U.S. Tower Sales and Marketing organization and plays an

instrumental role in the overall success of the proposal process by helping articulate

the technical and business value of our solutions and strategies. The incumbent

will possess technical competency in all Radio Frequency (RF) engineering

disciplines including network planning, link budget analysis, propagation

analysis, frequency/capacity planning, drive test analysis, network

optimization, network acceptance, network performance and  design. The incumbent will be responsible for

performing application engineering, specifying and developing design solutions,

multiple solution analysis, schedule planning and cost estimating. The Principle

Sales Engineer will have day-to-day interactions regarding technology and

product with senior management, suppliers, external customer and internal team

members. The Principal Sales Engineer will drive programs, new ideas and RF

support to maximize site selection on ATC assets; support marketing campaigns

that drive ATC site selection; provide the sales and marketing organization

with technical expertise to support campaigns or customer meetings; and

pro-actively educate sales team on emerging technologies or important industry

trends.','!*!ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Identify and develop revenue generating opportunities based

on new technology deployments and customer business plans.Working with Sales Account Managers (SAMs) and Vertical

Market Managers (VMMs), develop strategies and approaches to anticipate and

address the long-term business needs of customers and identify appropriate

alternativesAssist Business Development and Sales teams with market

penetration strategies and provide support for proposals and technical

presentations to current and prospective customers.Working with the Marketing Director and direct manager,

develop and propose campaigns and approaches utilizing RF analysis to position

AMT sites in a material and recurring manner.Develop training material and conduct internal training

webinars that educate the sales and marketing team on new technology or

industry trends that can help these team be more effective at selling our suite

of products and servicesProactively engage internal team members to attend and participate

in customer meetings to explore new opportunities and aid in the sales processValidate technical and RF needs.  Upon validating need,

develop objectives and design solutions including multiple solution analysis

and cost estimatingInteract with internal and external customers to identify RF

and structural engineering issues related to sales proposalsOptimize antenna placement on American Tower sites in order

to maximize leasing revenue opportunities and minimize RF interference OTHER: Other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None. QUALIFICATIONS:Ability to utilize technical background to conceptualize

solutions and proposals and prepare analysis reports in accordance with

customer requirementsExcellent interpersonal skills; ability to clearly

articulate value propositions to external customersDetail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines;

excellent organization and time management skillsAbility to drive work both independently and as part of a

team to leverage input and knowledge base of others within the company in

demonstrated success in executing appropriate and timely solutionsExcellent proficiency with Windows-based computer programs

including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet ExplorerAbility to use generally accepted RF planning and

optimization tools and software.The incumbent must be flexible as there may be workweeks

that require more than 40 hours to ensure the positions expectations and

responsibilities are metAbility to work with functional groups

and different level of employees throughout the American Tower organization to

effectively and professionally achieve business resultsStrong follow-up

skills; ability to organize applicable department timelines and follow up with

internal and external customer needs as neededStrong written and oral

communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions

skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes

through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast paced

building and maintaining solid relationships with both internal and external

identifying high quality solutions  EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Four year Engineering degree granted by the Accreditation

Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited university program

requiredTen years RF and System Performance Engineering experience

requiredExperience in the design and optimization of wireless

networks requiredRF design and optimization experience requiredExperience in new market launch (turn-key planning, design,

build and optimization) requiredKnowledge of RF propagation/antenna designKnowledge of all state-of the-art wireless technologies  ENVIRONMENT: Approximately 95% performed in climate-controlled internal

office environment working under normal office conditions.  Approximately 5% performed in outdoor

environment working in a telecom compound or at street level. Approximately 20%

travel will be required in support of the positions responsibilities.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is

regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and finger to feel and

handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear.  While performing the duties of this job, the

employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or

exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
