Consulting engagement
for a large organization in the Healthcare service industry.
Upp is now seeking a:
Production Support Engineer
to provide support for the daily operations and troubleshoot applications and platforms in the supported environments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Understand the business objectives of the organization.
Resolve application and platform problems, which include FTP, business process management, Windows batch procedures and mainframe job scheduling.
Move updates, changes and releases from developers and third-party vendors into the managed environments.
Work with internal developers and third-party vendors to ensure that applications and system support procedures and processes are followed when changes are made to the supported environments.
Interact with business unit customers, as well as provide tier 2 support.
Follow all established policies and procedures on all functions, including documentation and ticket management.
Participate and lead in technology and process change projects.
Gather and provide knowledge of the industry and industry best practices.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in working with virtual machine environments, preferably VMware.
Extensive FTP experience and knowledge (client and server).
Experience managing Windows 2003 and 2008 servers.
Experience developing and/or maintaining Windows scripts, such as Batch, Perl, PowerShell and adTempus.
Extensive knowledge of networking fundamentals and concepts in a corporate environment.
Familiarity with Windows and Linux server monitoring tools.
Experience utilizing SQL Server and associated tools.
Windows Server certification is a plus.
Knowledge of A and Network is a plus.
Familiarity with mainframe environment is a plus.
Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience in an IT-related field, such as Computer Engineering, Networking or Software Development.
