Position Summary

The Project Planner is responsible for the creation of Conceptual and Executable Project Plans for pre and post awarded work, approval of Project Sub-plans, WBS setup, and creation of the Project Schedule. The Project Planner receives inputs from the Project Team to make Project Plan adjustments as required, and reports project tracking status to the Project Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities

**ESSENTIAL**

* As directed by the Project Manager, coordinates the scope definition and preparing the work breakdown structure. Works with Business Development to review pre-award Scopes of Work, to determine conceptual project plans based on product line and project type.

* Serves as member of Task Team during pre-award phase and communicates key components and considerations for planning over the complete project life-cycle. Carries the outputs of the Task Team work session through to an executable Project Management Plan.

* Responsible for final approval of all project sub-plans including, but not limited to; Requirements Management Plan, Scope Management Plan, Cost Management Plan, Stakeholder Management Plan, Risk Management Plan, Communication Plan, Safety Plan, Quality Plan, Schedule Management Plan, Engineering Execution Plan, Production Plan, and Installation Plan.

* Develops WBS for each project. Establishes template, high level WBS structures based on product line and project type. Develops WBS Dictionary for each job.

* Works with phase owners to define and sequence required project activities. Works with Chief Estimator to estimate activity resources and durations. Carries output into Project Resource Requirements.

* Works in conjunction with Project Scheduler to develop initial Project Schedule and make schedule adjustments as changes to the plan are required, until Project Closeout.

* Oversees completion of formal Project Execution Plan for each project.

* Incorporates inputs from Monitor and Control personnel to make plan adjustments as required.

* Works closely with each Project Manager to provide regular Project plan updates, and to modify plans and schedules as needed to accommodate changes to scope, circumstances or strategies.

Qualifications

**REQUIRED**

* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or Industrial Engineering, with emphasis in Project Management/business/scheduling preferred.

* Professional Certification from PMI is desirable.

* Requires eight (8) plus years experience in Project Planning, Project Management, manufacturing, or Project Scheduling; or equivalent combination of education and experience/training, such as ERP/DRP/MRP/MPS.

* Direct experience with Project execution, planning, scheduling of complex Entertainment-based attractions / Ride Systems is preferred.

* Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, in-depth correspondence, and memos.

* Ability to write detailed and comprehensive correspondence.

* Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

* Ability to apply task-based step logic to complex processes and activities.

* Must be able to comprehend complex engineering, procurement, production, installation tasks and develop dependence-based logic to sequencing and inter-relationships of process flows.

* Must be able to translate complex tasks into logical plans and understand the cost relationships relative to time and resources.

* Must have proficient knowledge of MS Office, and scheduling / PM software including Primavera and MS Project. Knowledge of PeopleSoft ERP System is a plus.

* Should demonstrate adaptability - Adapts to changes in the work environment; Manages competing demands; Changes approach or method to best fit the situation; Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
