Profile

The Data Modeler is responsible for successful delivery of maintenance, optimization, and expansion Data Warehouse Projects.
This individual will operate on a development team, have exposure to the entire development lifecycle, and be asked to perform tasks that will cross the functional and technical aspects of the project.
Key tasks will include: (1) architecting new database tables; (2) optimizing query performance; (3) producing ad-hoc reports from the DW; (4) investigating and resolving data anomalies; (5) coordinating efforts with the application development team; (6) obtaining new data requirements from the client, (7) data profiling and (8) data mapping.
The Data Modeler will also be responsible for technology design, build, test & deployment efforts for various tools & technology solutions. This individual provides hands-on technical knowledge as well as manages client relationships within context of individual role.
Consultants will be located in an IBM office in the area or at an IBM client site.
Generally projects and clients are within the area and require very limited travel outside of the local area. However, some projects do require up to 100% travel for an extended period of time that is generally less than 1 year. Consultants are required to be flexible with their ability to travel and cannot refuse projects due to travel.

Required
* Bachelor's Degree
* At least 3 years experience in enterprise data modeling tools and data profiling
* At least 3 years experience in reviewing business and technical/application requirements and interpreting them into logical data models.
* At least 3 years experience in designing physical database and generating DDL
* At least 3 years experience in dimensional modeling, star schema design and full data warehouse lifecycle support
* At least 3 years experience in defining/enforcing modeling and naming standards, with concise descriptions
* At least 3 years experience in developing source to target data mappings; documenting business and transformation requirements; performing source system data profiling; documenting findings.
* At least 3 years experience in parallel database
* At least 3 years experience in querying files and relational databases
* At least 3 years experience in ETL tools and design consideration
* Readiness to travel Up to 5 days a week (home on weekends-based on project requirements)
* English: Basic knowledge
Preferred
* At least 3 years experience in healthcare industry
* English : Intermediate
NOTE: This role can be located in any large metropolitan US City.
