With a team of highly skilled and dedicated employees, we have successfully taken submarine technology to a new level.Job Description:The Engineering Assistant - Nesting/CAD Programmer is an entry level position responsible for using software to nest and program cutting machines in support of steel processing operation. This individual must ensure nests are created and downloaded so that they can be readily used by the operator, as well as working to optimize material usage to minimize scrap. This role will support and assist in machine trouble shooting and testing as well as programming additional cutting features into the nest.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Coordinate with production planning to supply operations the necessary nests and sketchesAbility to support varying tasks and projects based on supervisory directionGeneration and support of Continuous Improvement initiatives3D Modeling/Drafting/ProgrammingResponsible for increasing the profitability of nested ordersBe able to read, interpret and understand technical drawings and geometric dimensions and tolerance calloutsSupport Steel Processing in programming, trouble shooting, testing and developmentEducation/ Experience:Requirements:1 to 3 yearsand#39; of CAD Programming ExperienceAbility to read blue prints and drawingsAbility to interact with machine operatorsStrong computer skills and basic knowledge of CAD software and MS Office productsStrong communication skills and must be able to work in both a Team and individual environmentAttention to detailAbility to trouble-shoot and problem solve complex issuesPreferred:Associateand#39;s Degree in Mechanical Drafting/Graphics or 2-year technical school degree is desiredKnowledge in Plasma and/or Laser cutting procedures and machineryKnowledge in the following softwares: Siemens NX, TeamCenter, AutoCADHave an understanding of lean manufacturingMulti-TaskedSelf-DirectedSkills:Applicants must apply for a DOD Security Clearance as a condition of employment.
