The Public Sector Business Unit is the most public-facing area of our business. We are one of the largest installers of solar for education institutions in the U.S. (based on megawatts of solar installed), but the value that we add goes above and beyond solar equipment. Our highly skilled team works with U.S. educational and governmental institutions to find the right mix of renewable and energy efficiency solutions to help them achieve their goals. Our engagements go beyond traditional energy solutions and offer creative educational programs aimed to engage students and help strengthen curriculum. This business unit is a one-stop energy services provider that is expected to partner with our customers by providing expertise, experience, personal attention and seamless delivery from project inception to completion.

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Regional Sales Director located in Brea, CA through April 30, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

Overview
The Regional Sales Director (RSD) will manage a team of 4-6 Business Development Managers who are tasked with bringing new orders into the company. The primary focus of the RSD is to meet their regional sales plan by leading and supervising an assigned team to obtain contracts for energy retrofit projects, engineering services or energy services that result in the profitable implementation of construction project work. The RSD has overall responsibility for managing the sales organization in a defined geographic region and/or vertical market.

Qualifications:

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Review sales opportunities and work with sales and operations team(s) to assess client business potential. Focus sales resources on highest profitability accounts. Work with sales team members to find, develop and acquire new customers. Provide coaching and mentoring to team members. Focus sales resources on highest profitability accounts.
Hire, train, develop, motivate and manage sales personnel.
Develop and implement region business plan to achieve revenue target.
Increase the effectiveness/efficiency of sales personnel and reduce contract acquisition cycle times.
Provide periodic forecasts to senior management on upcoming business activity and sales opportunities.
Administer employee reviews and provide periodic feedback on employee performance.
Collaborate with marketing and communications department to develop new offerings or markets.
Review and approve business development manager expense reports. Develop region sales budgets and spending priorities.
Achieve region orders plan and maintain productivity for each assigned team member above minimum target.

Required Qualifications:
10 years of related experience in the energy industry.
Solid understanding of engineering practices and principals in the energy industry. In-depth knowledge of performance contracting business.
Business Acumen: Demonstrating insight into business issues and trends along with their industry and customer implications.
Competitive Differentiation: Ability to maximize CES' competitive advantages while disadvantaging competitors.
Value Creation: The ability to create demand by identifying, developing and measuring/calculating the value we create for clients.
Relationship Adeptness: The ability to develop and manage relationships with internal workgroups, external suppliers, business partners, business advocates and prospective clients to drive new orders growth.
Resource Optimization: Managing internal and external resources to maximize CES' return on investment. Developing a high performing sales team.
Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills including being a good listener.
Ethics and Integrity: Consistent, long history of doing the right thing particularly in the face of adversity or ambiguity.
Learning and Development: Demonstrated track record of developing and applying new skills and knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in an engineering discipline or a marketing/business degree.
Experience with mechanical and electrical systems.
Professional Engineering license.
