SAS Administration/ SAS Administrator for our Fortune 50 Insurance Client
Two openings/ immediate interview, Lead and individual contributor roles available.
Perm, Contract to hire or Contract :
Convert project specifications and statements of problems and procedures to detailed logical flow charts for coding into computer language. Develop and write computer programs to store, locate, and retrieve specific documents, data, and information relating to platform issues. Applications used by the area we support include; SAS, “R” and Salford Mining Software (Hadoop based) used for predictive modeling and analytics and are 90% on Distributed Platform and 10% on Mainframe.
Collaborate with Operational Support team to
provide tier one platform/software support in these areas
- Explore T echnical capabilities in the area of enterprise analytics
from a
platform perspective
- Vendor management, coordination and relationships
3rd party vendor relationships
- Capacity planning and availability Management
- Product Certification and high level License Management
- Product and platform upgrades (i.e. SAS 9.2 to 9.3 upgrade in progress)
- Support SAS related Desktop issues and production environment related issues
- Collaborate with line of business technology areas to bring advanced knowledge in best practices
, and procedures associated with supporting the platforms
- Collaborate with vendor partners
to establish a center of excellence.
- Evaluates systems specifications regarding customer requirements, transforming -specifications into cost-effective, technically correct solutions
- Prioritizes work and manages
application infrastructure
projects within
established budget objectives and customer priorities
- Responsible for establishing and managing quality control and security protocols
- Provides the division, department and business area management with timely and accurate information regarding the status and performance of the assigned project(s)
- Leverages technology to develop, redesign and/or implement optimal technology solutions
- Builds, leverages, and maintains effective alliances across technical and business community
- Interacts with customers to achieve efficient, effective results
- Multi-tasks, prioritizes according to business priorities and production availability requirements
OTHER:
Technical Knowledge
- 3 years of SAS distributed platform design, management, and/or support experience
- Experience with SAS mainframe a plus.
- Expert capabilities to support applications on Linux OS
- Shell scripting skills
