We have an immediate opening in our Managed Services Division for a Database Administrator.
We are seeking bright and motivated Microsoft SQL Server DBA with a focus on PeopleSoft Applications. Accepted candidates will have the skills to provide exceptional troubleshooting and performance tuning services to clients, helping them gain the optimum benefit from their SQL Server PeopleSoft investment. This position requires the individual to work from a remote location via a high-speed internet connection (cannot use satellite). A typical week consists of five 9-hour days.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Architect new client environments before the environment build process is started
Monitoring current server capacities and recommending the timing for new server purchases
Proactively investigate and suggest better uses of
current
technologies that help with gaining efficiencies or saving money
Proactively investigate and suggest the use of

Maintain current application configuration standards for applications hosted by CedarCrestone
Installation & configuration of SQL server 2005/2008/2008R2/2012 database software
Design, create, code, manage, and support all databases in both virtual and physical environments; clustered and non-clustered servers
Implement database backup and restore processes
Perform database tuning, application tuning, and optimizing custom code
Implement and manage database and server security
Perform database and application tier refreshes on frequent basis
Provide support to customers, application administrators, application support specialists, and business users
Develop technical specifications to meet system functions and user requirements
T-SQL coding, documentation, system performance and optimization
Support development testing, conversion, implementation, tuning and capacity planning
Implement disaster recovery, high availability, and backup solutions
Work with Microsoft support to resolve cases opened
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Understanding of and adherence to Best-Practices for SQL Server database administration and security.
Conceptual understanding of High Availability and the Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture
In-depth knowledge of administration or conceptual understanding of SQL Server Database technologies: Experience with SQL Profiler, extended events to debug performance issues
Experience with SQL Server locking, column store indexes
Experience with performance counters, SQL server dictionary views
Experience with SSIS, SSRS, SQL server utilities
Develop, implement, and maintain processes and procedures for database administration on production and non-production servers
Develop scripts and/or jobs to perform routine database administration tasks
Manage backup and recovery of databases
Manage implementation of database patches, as well as PeopleSoft Required-for-Install patches
Assist other internal teams in planning, tuning, upgrade, and build efforts.
In depth experience performing database tuning and performance analysis
Assist in the development of policies for data management pertaining to security, auditability, and privacy, and ensure these policies are complied with
Work as an on-call DBA for added support on a rotating schedule
