Scheduler/Shipping Supervisor','01011530','!*!The Scheduler/Shipping Supervisor is responsible for the

safety, production, and quality goals of a shipping crew in an engineered wood

facility.  The Scheduler/Shipping

Supervisor provides direct leadership to a team of hourly employees.  He/she must be committed to leading

continuous improvement in safety, cost management, process improvement, plant

scheduling, production flows, staffing and housekeeping.


The Scheduler/Shipping Supervisor will develop and execute

the detailed production scheduling at the facility as well as the coordination,

delivery and inventory of raw materials. 

The Scheduler/Shipping Supervisor will lead the Shipping Department in

achieving safety, quality and production goals. 

This individual is responsible for safely planning, coordinating and

maintaining operational schedules, and supporting maintenance to ensure

continuous process improvement.

Provide daily leadership and oversight of hourly production

feedback and direction to associatesEncourage innovationImplement retention and recognition initiativesUnderstand the process flow and provide solutions to issuesCoordinate activities with maintenance team and proactively

collaborate to address concernsCustomer focus to ensure orders are produced and shipped on

time, on budget and meeting specificationsStrong knowledge of products, coatings and machine

operations to efficiently plan product runsFrequent review of inventory and production for accuracy and

resolve issuesDevelop and maintain rework priorities for order completionProficient in use of computer software programs used for

scheduling and reportingRespond quickly to changing customer requests, machine

production issues, quality issues and transportation issuesTimely communication with customer services on issuesMust communicate and work well with operators, shippers,

engineers, product development, truck lines, etc.Creates manual production orders per replenishment signals

for full unit cutsProvide leadership for operations associates in work

scheduling, order release, schedule revisions, lead team meetings

','!*!A Bachelor's degree is requiredMinimum 5 years’ experience in a supervisory and/or key

leadership roleWork related experience in leading and ensuring compliance

with safety initiativesExcellent interpersonal skills, written, verbal and

electronic communication skillsDemonstrated ability to raise performance by building and

maintaining positive relationships with all associates through coaching,

development and instilling a continuous improvement mind-setStrong planning, scheduling and organizational skillsDemonstrated basic computer skills and proficiency in MS

Office and other windows based programsStrong work ethic, good judgement and decision-making skillsWork-related experience in production experienceDemonstrated results in achieving and sustaining business

goalsWorking knowledge of business and financial conceptsHands-on experience working with optimizing systemsMust be detail and accuracy orientedProficient in math using a calculator, able to work in

metric and imperial unitsMust be able to work in a manufacturing environment wearing

PPEsFlexible work schedule as requiredMust be team orientedWilling and able to work all shifts, including weekendsStrong knowledge of warehouse/yard layoutStrong knowledge of SAP or similar manufacturing software

applicationsAbility to prioritize workload based on customer and
