Job Overview:

The HR Generalist assists in the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: staffing, departmental development, HRIS, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organizational development, and employment.

Essential Functions:

Key Accountabilities:

Engage with employees and respond appropriately to Human Resources inquiries

Clearly and confidently represent policies and procedures to associates and business partners

Monitor employee relations across shifts

Input, track and maintain employment information for associates

Partner with Operations and Finance regarding policies and staffing

Liaise with new hires and process new hire paperwork

Actively participate in safety meetings and functions

Coordinate drug testing and background screens

Assist in the coordination of business meetings and company functions

Maintain employee personnel files in accordance with company standard

Contribute to positive employee relations

All other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Skilled at HRIS, including Peoplesoft and Kronos

Advanced ability in Microsoft Word and Excel

Proven Leadership /teamwork skills

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information

Strong knowledge of employment law and labor relations strategies

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Excellent organizational skills

Attention to detail /Analytical skills

Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends

Ability to make good decisions and multi-task in a fast paced environment

Good interpersonal skills and conflict management with ability to work with multiple business partners at all levels

Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly

Ability to adapt to changing priorities

Coordination of people and resources

Team player attitude



Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience


2-3 years working in the field of Human Resources required

HRIS, including Peoplesoft and Kronos

Evidence of leading a team and working well with others

Operations or distribution experience a plus
