The candidate will provide legal advice, counsel, and representation on legal matters to the System and its institutions. Will review, draft and negotiate a wide variety of contracts related to commercial enterprises, affiliation agreements, research agreements, non-disclosure agreements, managed care agreements and professional services agreements. Provide advice and counsel related to general health law operational and regulatory matters, health care policies and procedures, rules, regulations and legislation. Interpret policies, regulations, codes and rules. Develop and draft policies and procedures. Participate in OGC matters including briefing papers, legal memoranda, special initiatives, education conferences, workshops, etc. Manage state disciplinary and licensing matters relating to System physicians' provision of medical care. Manage health care liability claims and lawsuits against System institutions and its physicians. Manage outside counsel relationships including the Texas Attorney General.
