Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices, a member of Johnson & Johnson family of companies, is currently recruiting for a Senior Director, Compensation & Execution to be located in West Chester, PA, Raynham, MA, Somerville, NJ, Cincinnati, OH or Irvine, CA to support our Commercial Operations Medical Devices business. This position will require up to 25% travel.

leader plays a critical leadership role within One Medical Device and serves as a member of the One MD US Commercial Operations leadership team. This individual is responsible for Strategic planning for the operating companies current and future planning need, including leveraging data reporting, primary and secondary data needs, and competitive intelligence. The role also includes leading and managing Compensation Strategy and Customer facing Deployment functions for the One MD business units. This role requires close and consistent collaboration with leaders from Commercial Business units, including Sales Leadership, Marketing, HR and Finance to ensure compensation framework and plans are aligned with business strategies to drive the achievement of One MD and business unit goals. The management of the compensation planning will also include benchmarking current and emerging compensation trends to maximize sales performance.


leader is also responsible for managing and developing direct reports and the team to achieve their highest potential. In addition, this leader will create the vision and provide strategic direction for the development and implementation of harmonized compensation and related systems, processes and tools that facilitate the accomplishment of commercial business unit goals. The alignment of the compensation framework will further support the overall performance goals of the various supporting function to the sales teams with consistency of performance metrics to accomplish business unit sales goals.

In this role, you will be:

Setting strategic direction and communication framework to establish and enhance Compensation capabilities for One Medical Devices which includes but not limited to the following:

Field Compensation Framework (Base, Variable, Awards, Commission, additional mid cycle incentive plans (SIP) for direct and indirect franchises

Distributor Contract Management (for commissions)


Plans and Administration

Compensation Systems, Time sensitive Dashboards, Analytics

Data Integrity

Managing the compensation budget and quarterly accruals

Establish Quotas aligned to Company objectives (Potential for refinement of quotas based on quarterly restatements of goals aligned to increases to forecast)

Field Force Deployment: Go to Market Strategies



Providing direction for strategic Compensation Team towards creating solutions that delivers desired outcomes including stretch goals aligned with capitalizing on market opportunities

Creating the vision, strategic imperatives and providing aligned direction for the development of compensation, awards and recognition, establishing quotas, and compensation systems, and sales data integrity for the Ethicon sales organization.

Provide leadership and guidance for Harmonization of One MD systems and processes to gain efficiencies and


Directing associates in the development and implementation of programs, initiatives, and tools to Sales management and other members of the leadership team that use appropriate metrics and facilitate the accomplishment of commercial goals.

Institute a comprehensive communication strategy aligned to Compensation Plan including:

Plan construction with Leadership and Sales advisory team

Compensation Plan roll-out

Regular communication of compensation results to Sales teams

Year-end Sales results plan including Presidents awards

Developing and managing sales compensation budget ensuring comp plans, compensation structure and awards are managed

within budget guidelines

Providing guidance on consistent application of compensation governance and decision support to senior management for compensation, and quota in response to both internal and market changes

Ensuring sales tracings are aligned to accurate tracking at the territory, division region and business unit, including distributor and direct sales emanating from JJHCS or other distribution points.

Partner with other stakeholders (Marketing, HR, Corporate Accounts, etc.) to identify opportunities for synergy and develop synergistic strategies and tools to maximize the effective execution of commercial plans;

Identify, develop and manage talent; Inspire team members to achieve highest potential through stretch goals and opportunities.

Participate in shaping the organizational and cultural strategies to support ongoing innovation and change

Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities (both internal and external) to next management level

Responsible for ensuring subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition

Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies,

and procedures


A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. An advanced degree or further qualifications (e.g., M.B.A.) is preferred.

A minimum of 12 years of business experience is required. Previous sales, service, operations, compensation, deployment, finance and/or customer services experience is preferred.

A minimum of 10 years of people management experience required.

Previous Sales, Marketing, Strategic planning, commercial operations, account management or proven customer service, finance, and analytical background is preferred.

Medical device experience is preferred.

This position will require domestic travel 25%
