Job Summary: Responsible for the direct administration of Human Resources Services for communities within assigned region(s) and ensures compliance with established policies, procedures, and federal, state and local laws/regulations. Monitors and addresses employee issues and responds to inquiries regarding company HR policies and programs.Your responsibilities: * Provides guidance and acts as an associate's relations leader to the divisional office on various Human Resources issues, including but not limited to hiring, compensation, benefits, disciplinary issues and health and safety. Provides training and coaching to managers on areas in need of improvement.* Leads and manages terminations, layoffs and other separation and/or associate discipline issues with Executive Managers and field based leadership as needed.* Oversees the exit interview process for the divisional office separations.* Serves as the liaison between field HR Directors, corporate HR and legal team; provides support in the investigation of associate issues, legal compliance, DOL investigations and implementation of human resources related systems.* Leads implementation of Talent Management and Learning and Development programs and initiatives for an operating division. Acts as dotted-line supervisor to Talent and Learning resources assigned to the division.* Partners with operations to ensure Integrity Line alerts are given appropriate attention including investigation and follow-up steps, including timely closure.* Works in conjunction with Corporate SHRD on acquisitions and disposition community transitional needs, ensuring associates have proper communication and support.* Promotes positive associate relations throughout the division by partnering with operations leaders to conduct associate surveys, climate studies and skip-level meetings.* Partners with operations and compensation to conduct wage analyses considering market, minimum wage changes, shift differentials and other competitive factors.* Responds to union organizing, ensuring managers are trained on awareness and appropriate follow-up steps. Partners with legal team and operations to minimize risk.* Develops, implements, and monitors the human resources department budget(s).* Assists in the development and implementation of human resources policies to meet organizational needs and comply with state and federal laws. Works with Corporate Senior HR Director and SVP, HR to develop strategic initiatives to achieve company goals.* Monitor disability and leave of absence for the division, considering federal and state laws, and in partnership with legal team.Required skills and qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field required* Minimum five years experience as a Human Resources Generalist; or equivalent combination of education and experience* Certified Professional in Human Resource (PHR/SPHR-CP) is strongly preferred or desire/willingness to acquireIf you're a Brookdale associate, please consider referring someone through the Good People Program!
