Role:
Defines the overall strategies, principles, architecture vision and standards for data within the enterprise. Is able to obtain buy-in from stake-holders, management, business partners, and propagate throughout vision throughout the company. Establishes and educates development teams in regards to the data development framework, as well as governance. Develops the roadmap to attain the vision. Works with strategic vs. tactical requirements of the organization to fulfill the business needs. Focuses on partnering with management to propagate the data architecture vision across the enterprise and ensures enterprise data is managed for accuracy, currency and usage. Fosters corporate understanding of the meaning of the data (meta data management). Understands and communicates the data requirements of any future infrastructure needs. Facilitates and documents the agreements on appropriate corporate data and its usage (master data management). Promotes the use a toolset to facilitate: mapping of
data sources, master data management, data quality, data movement documentation, metadata management and data modeling.
Responsibilities:
* Develop a common business vocabulary
* Align enterprise strategy and business architecture to meet business requirements
* Promote open standards for global interoperability
* Develop a framework to help define logical, physical and technical artifacts for the enterprise
* Full SDLC involvement to maximize the value of data resources in the enterprise
* Design and development of databases and data structures
* Development of Information management components and data access interfaces across the enterprise
* Plans, deploys, monitors and takes action to resolve data quality issues
* Institutes control processes to ensure conformance with defined data quality rules
* Planning and design of structured data assets in accordance with business requirements
* Control and Review of data development activities
* Review of data security, auditing, data quality and testing of business assets
* Define domain values including terms, codes and business definitions for each value
* Master Data Management enables consistent, shared and contextual use across systems
* Understanding conceptual domains by subject area
* Ensuring that the language of the data is consistent across the enterprise. Defines the processes that ensure proper creation, storage, integration and control of meta data
* Maintains information about transactions, events, objects and their inter-relationships
* Creation of databases to support predictive analytics
* Takes a current and historical look at business
* Collects, cleanses, transforms and stores data
Requirements:
* Experience designing data architecture and standards establishment
* 10-15 years of experience in database and data architecture
* 4 years college degree in Technology or Engineering
* Experience in sizing and configuration of data architecture supporting client activity
* Experience in making decisions regarding data management tool applicability to technology directly affecting clients
