MUST HAVE AT LEAST THREE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE Developing a software product for the Automative Marketing Industry
Develop software products and help to develop new products based on your industry experience and your contact with customers and prospects. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market.
You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. You will work with internal teams to define product release requirements. You will work with marketing to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product, working with sales, operations and key clients.
Work with internal teams, beta clients, using best practices from “Pragmatic Marketing” or equivalent processes, to successfully launch and manage the entire project. This includes technical product development, documentation/training/branding of 3rd party tools, sales tools and training the sales team, advertising/awareness campaigns, and optimization of product from beta client feedback.
Some Key skills include:
Conceptualizing defining, and designing next generation SaaS, PaaS, transactional, Subscription and Response Marketing product offerings on a Global Scale. Initial core software products include complex multi-channel Campaign Management and List Management products including Data Mining capabilities and Enterprise Reporting for the International Market.
5 years of marketing/product management experience within industry and/or CRM work experience
Experience on the fixed operations side of the automotive industry
Experience with defining requirements to build automotive CRM platforms
Understands DMS systems and who the primary providers are
Understands RDR/NVS records
Understands aware of RO/repair orders & Customer Pay vs. Warranty
Utilized SMS technology as part of an automotive solution
Worked with dispatching or online scheduling systems
Product Management Skills & Knowledge:
Can explain Product Management process
Can explain what a Product Manager does
Can explain difference between Product Management and Product Marketing
Ability to analyze data and create practical business cases that can be used to illustrate the value proposition created
Defined market requirements for automotive products by conducting market research!
Driving a solution set across development teams through market requirements, product planning, and positioning.
Led the development of a product or project (product concept was documented, developed, tested and deployed)
Developing and implementing a go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute
Actively participated in process to keep projects on target and meet schedule and performance objectives.
History of success in managing projects and products or services (risks, issues, resources, schedules, tasks, budgets)
Managed the product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
Supported sales team with demonstrations and product collateral creation
Interpersonal & Soft skills:
Has the ability to “think outside of the box” and provide innovative ideas and solutions
Experience in utilizing social media solutions to help attract prospective customers
Skilled in interpersonal relationship management to effectively work with business leaders and management
Excellent interpersonal, written, oral communication skills along with great presentation skills
Knowledgeable in technology, software, and the internet.
Bachelor's degree in a related field -or- has exceptional automotive experience
Strong overall professional presence, capable of communicating and negotiating effectively at all levels
Knowledge of MS Project and MS Visio
High level problem solving, project management and organizational skills & product management experience.
Prefers automation experience and working in a software development environment with around 7 years of strong product management in the auto related industry.
