Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer
As a key contributing member of an exceptional team of professionals, you will be responsible for the continuous improvement and growth of our Software Quality process. This is an opportunity to showcase your leadership, organizational, and technical skills towards implementing best practices. You will be required to develop, maintain, and execute manual unit and system test plans, as well as, manage and support the SQA technical infrastructure for all developed applications. In addition, and as part of a continuous improvement effort, you will be assisting in the development of automated testing methodologies where applicable. Responsibilities:
* Establish and maintain Quality Assurance process and Quality Control workflow
* Maintain QA system infrastructure including server, operating system and associated hosted services and applications
* Partner with product management, developers and operations team members to create manual and automated test plans from functional specifications
* Execute manual, primarily Black Box unit and system test cases, as well as, Automated Regression Test Suites where applicable
* Perform load and stress testing
* Contribute tools to the QA test suites and testing infrastructure
* Develop and maintain Batch and Cron Jobs with UNIX Shell Scripts for push, release, deployment, etc.
* Represent QA in design, functional requirements, and code reviews
* Take ownership for the quality of the product that is shipped
Requirements:
* Strong QA skills: process planning, bug isolation, bug report writing, troubleshooting
* Formal SDLC/PDLC process experience is required, but the candidate does not have to be savvy in Scrum or Agile specifically.
* Familiar with Front end web technologies and light programming (HTML, Flash, JavaScript, .NET)
* Familiar with cross browser functional testing. Mainly Windows based UI with some MAC support necessary
* Background in testing or development of database-driven web applications or other enterprise software. SQL skills are highly desirable. Candidate must be able to create and inspect back end queries in SQL as they can influence overall product performance
* Back End web services are primarily Java/Tomcat on Linux. Candidate must be comfortable in command-line driven Linux/Unix operating systems (system health, diagnostics)
* Solid Java experience preferably in building JUnit and equivalent tests
* Experience designing and running web stress and load tests preferred
* Experience with cloud based service architecture a plus
* Experience with streaming media playback and delivery (FMS, CDN, etc.) a plus
* Strong communication and leadership skills. Comfortable interfacing with all levels of management and cross functional teams
* A keen analytical and structured approach to problem solving and testing.
