Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Specialist - Engagement is to manage and support all internal and intentional Team Member engagement initiatives that align with the strategies and goals of the organization.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort's policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Support the team administratively.

Meet with department leaders to solicit and obtain information that would be considered for general communication for our Team Member population, provide event updates when necessary, and partner with them to provide engagement/communication suggestions.

Maintain working knowledge of cutting-edge, industry leading, employee/guest engagement strategies that align with the strategies and goals of the organization.

Manage Team Member engagement calendars. Monthly, quarterly, and annual.

Administer, facilitate, lead, and manage the quarterly Team Member recognition program.

Coordinate, lead, manage and/or execute assigned projects, events and initiatives. Assign tasks/responsibilities to various departments and/or leaders.

Utilize Excel to: Collect all engagement metrics for assigned projects, events and initiatives.

Track and control cost.

Track and analyze attendance.

Assist with coordinating, leading, managing and/or execution of communication materials/initiatives/platforms. All communication efforts are highly visible, well understood, and positions the organization positively and is in alignment with the goals of our organization.

Develop project plans (critical paths) based upon defined high level features and functions and defined project success criteria. Estimate resources to support defined project plans and project goals.

Assign project tasks to appropriate resources and communicate expectations and accountabilities in a timely and clear fashion.

Define communication strategies to ensure project stakeholders are engaged and aware of project activities and dependencies.

Manage project execution within the defined enterprise standards to ensure timeliness, quality and cost effectiveness, tracking schedule and budget performance using appropriate tools and techniques.

Identify and manage project issues and risks throughout the life of the project, developing action and contingency plans as appropriate.

Communicate project status and manage expectations with project stakeholders on an on-going basis.

Validate project deliverables against scope and quality expectations and participate in project stage-gates (including project post-mortems or wrap-ups), identifying opportunities for execution and process improvement.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

Positively and enthusiastically promote the team, the organization, and all its initiatives.

Track all responsible expenses and address and mitigate potential financial risk. Materials, labor, food and beverage, equipment, etc.

Partner with team to ensure assigned budget line items are followed and provide P&L reconciliation with comments/justifications for assigned events.

Interact with TMs and Leaders of all levels for various initiatives. Recognition, Team Member events, promotional, management meetings, team volunteerism, training, and other assigned initiatives.

Constantly brainstorm, look, observe and share innovative, energetic and fun ideas to upgrade or create communication/engagement initiatives that align with the strategies and goals of the organization.

Backup to Engagement Specialist and Communications Specialist when on flex or out of the office (tasks, projects, initiatives, etc.).

Assist the completion of all Heart of House/internal initiatives and projects for both The Venetian and The Palazzo.

Aid in the preparation of presentations, speeches, collateral, etc. geared toward team members and management.

Provides input into the research, development, evaluation and implementation of new products, services, technology and processes to ensure The Venetian and The Palazzo's competitive position and in anticipation of the changing needs of our organization and industry.

Exercise discretion and judgment based on available information related to projects assigned.

Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

21 years of age.

Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.

High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Two years of experience working in Human Resources event planning and execution.

Two years working in a lead or supervisory capacity preferred.

Copywriting and editing experience preferred.

Computer - Intermediate skills and experience with MS Outlook, WORD, Excel and PowerPoint; Stratton Warren, EV5.

Highly organized with strong administrative skills.

Ability to make clear, well-thought, decisive, and quick decisions under time limits.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.

Must be able to obtain and maintain any certification or license, as required by law or policy.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.

Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

Lift or carry 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.

Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.

Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.

Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.

Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.

Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
