Position will be responsible for defining, designing, and delivering SAP centric solutions that enable AbbVies compliant manufacturing processes.
This position is accountable to ensure high quality solution designs that meet current and anticipated business needs.
Responsibilities also include evaluating alternatives to satisfy business objectives, estimating and planning SAP quality management (QM) projects, managing SAP Solution Architects and Configurators, and cross-project process and design governance.
This position is responsible for partnering with business leadership and project management to provide guidance to project teams, driving effective issue management with and communication to key stakeholders, and delivering successful end results.
The position will be involved in solving complex problems that arise during the planning and execution of large-scale IT programs and projects including the global rollout of SAP to AbbVies manufacturing and R&D plants.
This position will influence senior business and IT leaders on the application strategy and SAP roadmap.
The decisions made by this position will have wide reaching impacts including current and future Application Development projects, Business Process sustainability, and on-going IT Support and Maintenance.
This position is expected to work with minimal oversight and to provide leadership to multiple concurrent SAP Projects and Teams.
Primary Responsibilities/Duties
Plan complex and global reaching SAP projects including resource needs and cost estimates.
Partner with business unit IT to formulate application strategies and roadmaps.
Define templates, standards, and patterns to be used across project teams.
Oversee project execution by providing oversight and direction to project management while remaining accountable to ensure the expected value is achieved in a high quality, cost effective, and flexible manner.
Anticipate and resolve critical cross-regional and cross-organizational issues that have significant impacts on cost, compliance, and risk.
Establish appropriate design review and governance across application development projects; anticipate implementation risks, define appropriate mitigation plans, and direct others to implement them when appropriate.
Assure staff readiness and communicate organizational needs to the Director of Enterprise Applications.
Oversee and approve the completion of deliverables including requirements, prototypes, design, configuration, development, and data conversion by employee and system integrator team members.
Proactively resolve delivery related issues so as to ensure projects achieve the expected outcomes within the approved quality, timeline, and budget parameters.
Team management and administrative responsibilities including: performance management, coaching, professional development of AbbVie employees within team.
Assure proper compliance and audit procedures are incorporated into project operating procedures.

Skills/Experience Requirements
Minimum of 12 years of experience, including 5 years hands on SAP configuration and implementation.
Demonstrable end-to-end business process knowledge in Pharma Manufacturing and Quality.
Expert level knowledge in SAP QM in Procurement, Distribution, and Manufacturing.
Understanding of LIMS and other Lab Systems.
Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards affecting Pharmaceutical Products (e.g. GMP).
Managing SAP projects and teams; working knowledge of all aspects of the SAP ASAP methodology including Applications, Integration, Data, Security, Change Management, Training, and Communications.
Hands-on experience planning and facilitating blue print workshops.
Strong understanding of developing complex interfaces.
Ability to resolve complex issues in high stress and high pressure situations.
Effective communication and influencing Senior Leaders in business and IT.
Critical Thinking.
Coaching and mentoring business and IT resources to ensure effective and sustainable application designs.
Ability to travel globally.
