Investigate architectures for fault-tolerant quantum computing and quantify their performance and resource requirements. Reduce the overhead needed for quantum computing through the design of more efficient algorithms and improved techniques for achieving fault tolerance. Formulate tests for verifying the performance and scalability of quantum hardware.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Must have experience in one or more of the following: fault-tolerant quantum computing, quantum computing architectures, quantum computing benchmarks, open-loop quantum error suppression, and quantum algorithms. Must have a Ph.D. in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline (or will complete by December 2013) and minimum of 4 years of experience in the field of quantum computing. Must have demonstrated innovation leading to significant advancement in the field. Must be a US citizen willing to get a Top Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with superconducting qubits, topological quantum computing, and classical computer science desired. Experience with Clifford simulation and full scale quantum simulation desired.
