The

Supplier

Quality Engineer’s primary responsibility

encompasses the quality related functions of the distribution and assembly sectors of our business, with focus on the quality performance of our suppliers. Responsibilities include administrating supplier quality performance metrics, evaluating these metrics and, developing mutual plans with suppliers to improve performance. The

Supplier

Quality Engineer (SQE) will develop relationships with suppliers to assist TTI and our customers in resolving problems and improving processes. The SQE will also

lead and assist

teams in both lean (6-sigma) and root cause & corrective actions (RCCA).

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Oversees

effective supply chain quality through processes

that meet and exceed our customer’s expectations.

Processes monthly reporting of Supplier Quality Performance; distributes to appropriate Supplier contacts and administrates necessary changes as a result of discussions with suppliers.

Secures annual supplier certifications that enable efficient TTI processes throughout the year,

Provide effective support regarding internal and external customer quality requirements by acting as the customer liaison representing TTI and communicating between suppliers, customers, sales branches, operations, Quality and Product Department personnel to resolve quality issues.

Ensures suppliers meet TTI’s quality expectations in an effective manner by reviewing and auditing component suppliers as necessary. Auditing may involve domestic and international travel.

Organize and Lead Continuous Improvement Initiatives to improve quality from our suppliers, develop leaner processes for TTI, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Assists other Quality Department personnel in obtaining effective and timely RMA’s, I-CARs, SCARs and Customer CARs.

Completes special projects as assigned in a timely and accurate manner by reviewing project requirements with appropriate management, developing project plans as needed and effectively completing assigned projects.

Mentor/coach teams to drive efficient Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) improvement with Rapid Problem Solving skills being evident.

Support of Key Operational Metrics with emphasis on PPM related to supplier incoming and external rejections, corrective action responsiveness and effectiveness, COQ and other metrics.

Develops relationships that enable TTI to reduce the risk of our supply chain through improvements in mutual contracts and processes.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (e.g. business, mathematics, engineering, quality) with a minimum of 3 years experience in customer facing or problem solving positions or equivalent experience is preferred. Previous Quality Engineering experience is strongly preferred, but not required.

Application

of quality standards as it relates to the various markets per the requirements and standards as documented by organizations such as SAE, the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) and Military Standards.

Experience and knowledge applying the principles of quality system requirements including

Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities through a combination of data driven analysis and applied Quality Engineering knowledge.

(SPC, PFMEA, 5 Why, etc.)

Ability to devise procedures and designs with required forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality data.

SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS

Certified Quality Engineer from the ASQ preferred.

Intermediate knowledge of Word and Access preferred.

Advanced knowledge of Excel preferred.

Basic knowledge of PowerPoint preferred.

Knowledge of various industry quality requirements.

Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Possess strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Possess strong interpersonal skills.

Possess good verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to multitask and work with limited supervision.

Bi-lingual (Spanish) helpful.
