Supplier Relationship Management Lead','01KNU','!*!Monsanto Global Supply Chain Procurement is seeking a motivated and career driven Supplier Relationship Management Leader to lead supplier performance & quality management initiatives in all regions (North America, South America, EME and Asia Africa) focused on managing continuous improvement strategies, driving supplier lead innovation, processes and activities aimed at mitigating risk and enabling optimal total cost of ownership of direct and indirect materials. 

The successful candidate will work closely within the Global Procurement organization to further develop a world class supplier management program which will include the identification, qualification, implementation, and continuous improvement of Monsanto's suppliers. The Individual selected will play a key role in enabling cultural change within the procurement organization.  This position will report directly to the Global Procurement Strategic Sourcing Lead and will be located in St. Louis, MO.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead a direct team of skilled professionals accountable for delivering collaborative results through full deployment and use of Supplier Relationship & Quality Management tools and process on behalf of Category Management Teams

Create, communicate, and implement Monsanto's supplier performance vision, strategies, practices, and procedures across all business units

Work collaboratively with Category Teams to create customized and unique breakthrough solutions by formalizing the innovation life cycle from idea formation and evaluation to development, product creation and continuous improvement

Proactively understand what drives the requirements of the business, making it possible to reverse-engineer costs and explore potentially less expensive and/or higher-quality alternatives

Contribute to the development and execution of the Supplier and Commodity Qualification process

Responsible for commodity improvements aimed at reducing the total cost of ownership, reducing risk and introducing supplier lead innovation across direct and indirect materials and services

Contribute to the development and implementation of key performance indicators (KPIs); service level agreements (SLAs); specifications and measurement systems, including supplier scorecards focusing on cost, quality, delivery, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement

Develop and implement Monsanto's supplier pre-qualification and integration process for new suppliers

Lead the organization and suppliers towards the objective of highest value / lowest cost of ownership supply chains

Employ appropriate continuous improvement and risk mitigating tools including Six Sigma / Lean, assessments, category intelligence documents, sustainability measures on behalf of category team strategy

Work with Category and Operations Teams to develop and implement supplier performance strategies to achieve stated goals and objectives

Work closely with Category Management Teams to identify future sourcing opportunities globally 

Work with strategic sourcing leadership in partnering with key stakeholders to ensure purchasing is actively engaged in core business processes

Support category management negotiations to achieve stated goals and objectives      

Collaborate effectively across organizational levels, functions, businesses, and geographies to maximize the impact a collaborative, teams-in-business centric procurement approach can take to reach company, customer and societal objectives

Develop creative approaches and frameworks for the issues, and develop appropriate issue/work plans','!*!Required Skills/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field; Master’s and/or MBA preferred

Successful 10 year track record in a Global Procurement Organization or equivalent manufacturing and / or quality process experience

Experience in and capable of articulating how the candidate lead(s) supplier quality, supplier performance and similar activity using a combination of the following tools: Lean / Six Sigma, supplier scorecards, assessments, on time / in full, perfect order, pre-qualification methodology, risk management and financial systems, sustainability and supplier diversity

Can articulate how they inspire supplier lead innovation and deploying supplier risk mitigating actions

Demonstrates competency to the point that analytics, market intelligence and benchmarking are offered as a service to key stakeholders

Experience in managing teams and can demonstrate an ability to lead, support, and develop direct reports in both career and business goals globally

Experienced in working within a matrixed organization with proven ability to utilize collaboration and partnerships to garner trust and achieve results

Adept in partnering; supplier quality; continuous improvement; cross-functional teaming; influencing and building consensus at all levels of the organization

Ability to work effectively across global and business matrixes

Accomplished in change leadership

Strong problem solving and analytical skills

Results orientation

Demonstrates candor; ability to respectfully challenge assumptions and surface underlying issues across all levels of the organization including senior leadership

Demonstrated ability to motivate others and navigate teams through ambiguity

Comfort/familiarity with constructing presentations, organization communications, and business cases

Strong ability to build relationships and networks in the community and within the Monsanto organization across multiple functions and leadership levels

Strong detail orientation and cost reduction/process improvement focus

Outstanding strategic skills; ability to transform general goals in to actionable plans.
