This position will be focused on performing as a Training Specialist – Mech Skills instructor and in this role will develop, plan, coordinate, and instruct training curriculum for Entergy’s Power Generation Facilities. This role will also be responsible for assisting in the designing, writing, publishing, and maintaining of customer-focused technical content including maintenance procedures, technical manuals, technical illustrations, and other materials as needed to support Entergy’s Power Generation activities. This role will have a concentration in effective delivery of Mechanical Maintenance Training (millwright, welding, machinists, etc.) using Hands-on Techniques.
Provides maintenance and operation training services to Power Generation personnel, trains new personnel, and solicits and responds to trainee needs. Training services include development of training courses, teaching courses, communicating with customers to define and prioritize their needs, developing plans and initiatives to meet customers' needs. May also be involved in curriculum development and /or technical writing projects, depending upon role assignment within team.
* Deliver Mechanical Maintenance Training (millwright, welding, machinists, etc.) using hands-on techniques. Oversee, schedule, deliver, teach and/or facilitate training courses. Develops and edits classroom training materials and provides input into overall training content in order to provide the most relevant training to meet the training needs. Solicits and responds to feedback regarding content, delivery, training department processes, etc. related to training delivery. * Analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate training materials and programs with a primary focus on mechanic skills training, using a systematic approach to training. * Conduct needs and strategic learning assessments to develop the basis for new curriculum development or for updating existing curricula. Work with customers to determine needs and priorities and develop plans and initiatives to meet customer needs related to maintenance, operations, and other technical training for the Power Generation organization. Involved with developing or updating training courses and certification processes for new and existing operations, maintenance, and other technical personnel in Power Generation. * Administers and coordinates training programs for sites as assigned, working with customers to determine needs and priorities and developing plans and initiatives to meet customer needs. * Develop and deliver pre and post testing. Also may apply various evaluation models to assure highest level of training effectiveness and analyze existing training delivery to determine the appropriate method for future training.
Participates in continuous improvement of technical writing processes and systems. May be involved with collaborating with business partners to review and update Operating Procedures, Maintenance Procedures, and other documents as requested. Obtains technical reviews from content owners and ensures the accuracy of revisions to provide customers with the highest quality technical materials.
High school diploma required, or equivalent work experience. Desired: A.S. or BS Degree
Minimum experience required of the position:
5 years of Power Generation or other industry experience.
Ability to deliver, produce and develop training course material and administer training programs.
Desired: 5 years of Mechanical Maintenance (millwright, welding, machinists, etc.) technical experience
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:
Practical knowledge of technical skill to be taught. Ability to perform technical craft techniques appropriate to the subject matter being taught.
Able to effectively communicate in various mediums and various styles.
Is a subject matter expert or has the capability of becoming a subject matter expert in the area of power plant operations procedures and processes.
Candidate to have strong interpersonal skills; ability to integrate seamlessly into diverse teams. Ability to travel up to 50% to support field locations in Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana.
