Unit Assistant Director - Academic Integrity
Duties: Performs administrative and supervisory work related to the management of a specialized unit; usually reports to a Director. Encompass the coordination of activities involved in the management of the unit or support services. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on attainment of established goals; may be responsible for supervision of all employees assigned to the unit of responsibility. Provides guidance to faculty members and instructors who bring forth allegations of Academic Dishonesty, Associate Academic Deans who serve as appeals officers in Academic Dishonesty cases, and students who are alleged to have violated the Academic Dishonesty policy. Investigates and adjudicates alleged violations of the Code of Student Conduct Academic Dishonesty Policy. Oversees the management of Academic Integrity cases in the Office of Student Conduct. Educates the campus community regarding Student Conduct and Academic Integrity by presenting to student groups, athletic teams, orientation programs, academic departments, and professional staff members. Creates documents and guides for faculty, staff, and students regarding the Academic Integrity process at Texas Tech University. Coordinates University Discipline Committee training related to the Academic Integrity Hearing process. Develops individualized learning outcomes and educational sanctions for students found responsible for violating the Academic Integrity policy. Manages the educational sanctions for Academic Integrity cases including the Academic Integrity Blackboard Seminar Course. Assists with the annual review of the TTU Code of Student Conduct as it relates to the Academic Dishonesty policy and coordinates proposed changes and revisions to the Code of Student Conduct for final approval through the Board of Regents. Assists the Managing Director, the Associate Director, and other Assistant Director(s) of the Office of Student Conduct with student conduct investigations through the University Discipline Committee process and the Administrative Hearing process. Manages the Office of Student Conduct website. Assists with the development of annual goals, annual reports, marketing and strategic planning specifically related to Academic Integrity and for other programs and services administered / coordinated through the Office of Student Conduct. Assists with the maintenance of the Conduct database software, Maxient. Assists with publications for the Office of Student Conduct including Code of Student Conduct Supplement, Student Affairs Handbook, Student Right to know supplement, etc. Assists with crisis intervention and academic / personal referrals to University departments and community agencies.
