Water Resources Engineer
Water Resources Engineer, Atlanta-GA
We are looking for a highly motivated junior-level Engineer to support our Water Resources Environmental Management team with a variety of water resource projects related to stormwater management, environmental site design, and stream and ecosystem restoration.
Each day, you will be an important team member as you support clients through a project’s life-cycle, including water resource studies, models and planning, engineering design, regulatory compliance and permitting, construction and monitoring. Additional opportunities include environmental monitoring and reporting, floodplain mapping and studies, as well as permitting support services.
Responsibilities could include: • Performing geospatial and cartographic analysis through GIS applications, including the use of GIS in the planning, design, and implementation of water resource projects and studies. • Assisting with the development and implementation of Watershed Protection Plans, environmental assessments and permitting support documentation. • Performing H&H and water resource planning and design calculations, including TR-55 / TR-20. • Use civil/site design to aid in the completion of contract documents for stormwater projects; specifically, CAD-based design and/or working in detail with technicians to complete plan sets including site, stormwater, and erosion/sediment control plans. • Work with supervision to complete draft deliverables for stormwater projects including but not limited to watershed and planning studies, stormwater design practice feasibility and selection, design calculations and reports, construction plans, and cost estimates. • An understanding of current federal, state and local MS4 and other stormwater regulations, design guidelines, and permit requirements to support project success. • Execution of stormwater, low impact development and stream restoration design projects, including landscaping, design, and community outreach • Conduct existing site and facility assessments and identification of stormwater retrofit opportunities.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Environmental, Civil Engineering or a related Science/engineering discipline .• 0 to 3 years competency in working with municipal clients in engineering roles
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:• Master’s degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, preferred
