senior GIS .Net Software Developer / Team Leader

Profile

Responsible for performing full software lifecycle process support.
Includes requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, verification and validation, and maintenance of enterprise GIS web services, web-based applications and desktop solutions. Uses .Net including C# and Silverlight integrated with ESRI’s ArcObjects and ArcGIS Server to develop enterprise applications serving 1000’s of users.
Analyzes and documents software requirements, interacts with customer for clarifications, use cases, design specifications, creates and implements software code, unit test plans, software project planning and estimation.
Responsible to design and implement software quality assurance/control processes team wide.
Analyzes defects and works with help desk team to resolve user issues.
Candidates must be experienced with waterfall and agile software lifecycle development processes, standards and best practices.
Customer may require agile, waterfall and mixed approaches.
This role provides technical leadership within a wider virtual team and mentors other team members and ensure projects stay on schedule.
Must be strong in the dual disciplines of GIS and .Net software development.
The ideal candidate will have the above plus experience developing enterprise geospatial mobile applications supporting government business workflows.
Scope:
This is a software development position and as such 70% of the effort is anticipated to be direct hands-on coding.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and 8 years of general experience.
Six (6) years of general experience is considered equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree.
With a Master's Degree, six (6) years of general experience is required.
With a PhD, 4 years of general experience is required.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Expert-level understanding of .Net version 3.5 or later
Minimum 8 years progressive C# development and 2 years WCF/Web Services/SOAP
Expert-level understanding of geospatial processing concepts in ArcGIS
Minimum 6 years development experience with ESRI’s ArcObjects, ArcDesktop and ArcGIS Server components excluding ArcIMS
Experience designing/developing desktop and web applications for multi-user deployments including software architecting, design and performance considerations
Experience planning and estimating level of effort for software development
Experience technically guiding 3 developers – this is NOT project management position
DESIRED SKILLS:
Knowledge of database engineering and administration with SQL Server is a plus
Experience with automated software testing tools for regression testing is a plus
Experience with development of Python script or ESRI Model builder is a plus
Understanding of federal standards governing web application design and development
Expertise with Silverlight or HTML5, WPF, XML and Win Forms
Experience developing enterprise geospatial mobile applications supporting government business workflows.
