z/OS Computer Operator JES Mainframe

Nashville firm is looking for a computer operator with both Mainframe and Distributed experience. Specifics:
The z/OS Operations group provides 24x7 system level and batch support to development and GTIS communities. The team is comprised of two sub-divisions: system controllers who maintain ownership of operational L1 / L2 system level tasks and OP Techs, who support batch and online specific problems in the environment. System controller functions include monitoring of system performance, online availability, transmission flows, system resources and data replication. They are responsible for incident management and escalation of abnormal activity, resource manipulation, execution of system IPLs, performance/priority dispatching, vendor interaction/management along with record-keeping. OP Tech*s primary function is to support problems in multiple batch streams by fixing abends and restarting jobs. OP Techs analyze complex batch changes prior to their implementation and implement on-time changes based on business requirements. OP techs handle job submissions via TWS on behalf of development (QA testing and on-request production jobs) and insure availability and SLA conformance of all applications. Both teams support BCM activities, both cross region and local.
The primary responsibilities of the z/OS Operations group include:
- Alert/batch/online monitoring
- Incident management and escalation
- System performance monitoring and management (weights, initiators, input queues, CPU utilization)
- Batch manipulation and prioritization
- Monitoring of transmissions and batch flows
- Interaction with external vendors and transmission partners (>1000 daily transmissions from over 150 transmission partners)
- Data replication processes between LH and Emerald and XRC based replication between CH and US
- Subsystem (CICS, DB2) manipulation through automation/consoles
- Session manipulations (contention avoidance, ID manipulations)
- Closing/Opening of files
- Varying devices on/off-line
- First level problem determination (system) / root cause analysis
- Expert knowledge of mainframe tools/utilities and software (JES2, VTAM, CICS, DB2, Automation) employed as part of problem troubleshooting
- System shutdowns/IPLs
- Console administration
- Provision of DR support
- Application checkouts
- Access provision (FICAS, data center, vendor)
- Batch abend fixes and job restarts
- Release implementation (one time job executions)
- Execution of off-hour scheduling changes in the current plan
- Support of special projects
- Event management with an average monthly re-assignment and tracking of 1,600 Pm-One incident tickets
- Coordination of weekly maintenance and change execution windows
On the distributed side, someone with a working knowledge of AutoSys, basic Unix skills and BMC Patrol knowledge
