THIS IS AN CONTINGENCY REQ - NO FUNDING YET
Linguist must possess the command of English and Persian-Farsi/Dari, including all dialects in the source and target languages. THIS POSITION IS LOCATED AT FT. STEWART, GA AND REQUIRES RELOCATION.
The interpreters must be able to (1) comprehend both English and Persian-Farsi/Dari as spoken and written (if the language has a script), (2) speak both of these languages, (3) choose an expression in the English language that fully conveys and best matches the meaning of the source Persian-Farsi/Dari language, (4) have familiarity with the cultural context of both languages, (5) have knowledge of terminology in specialized fields, (6) observe protocols applicable to different settings, and (7) master the modes applicable to these settings.
The translators must be able to (1) read and comprehend the Persian-Farsi/Dari language, (2) write comprehensibly in Persian-Farsi/Dari, including all dialects and (3) choose the equivalent expression in the English language that both fully conveys and best matches the meaning intended in the source language.
1. Bachelors Degree in a related discipline.
2. Masters Degree preferred.
Requires a minimum of 10 years of experience.
A Top Secret clearance based on an SCI is required. Current poly is preferred. All linguists must be minimum 3/3 (ILRT-scale) proficiency or pass the PQE part I and II.
