Senior Counsel - Government Contracts

Job Profile
Our client, a leading software and technology company, is seeking an experienced Government Contracts Attorney to join it's in-house Legal Team as Senior Counsel. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a growing company with a solid, global client base. The Senior Counsel will be responsible for the management of federal commercial supply and service contracts, including analysis of legal risks and obligations, negotiations, and compliance, as well as serving as the point of contact for all prime and subcontractors. Also, the successful candidate will be the primary attorney within the legal department responsible for handling government contracts related isues and providing expertise and strategic direction in the development, drafting, negotiation, management and administration of complex contractual commitments.
The position will be located in the company's northern Virginia office and offers growth potential. Excellent compensation package.
Position Requirements:
JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one state
5 years of experience managing federal and state government contracts
Extensive knowledge and experience with handling prime and sub-contractor relationships related to federal government contracting
Expert knowledge of GSA schedule administration, reporting and compliance requirements for federal government contracts
Familiarity with government security clearances and government accounting principles
A technology background is a plus, but not required
Previous in-house experience strongly desired
Be a self-starter with the demonstrated ability to think strategically and manage business relationships
