The Product Manager, New Products identifies and characterizes market moving opportunities for the Drug Delivery Business and articulates high level product strategy to convert opportunities to revenue. Relative to product life cycle, the Product Manager, New Products is highly focused on characterizing business opportunities and creating a product strategy. This position also represents Drug Delivery Marketing on the Drug Delivery product development project’s “Core Team”. Position Responsibilities • Articulates a winning product plan for the global Drug Delivery business. • Characterizes new product opportunities in terms of strategic fit, financial impact, and ability to execute. • Illuminates and prioritizes business and customer needs by utilizing customer need and preference market research and competitive assessment tools. • Represents Drug Delivery Marketing on the product development project’s “Core Team” through the Commitment Phase and leads the marketing sub-team. • Works with Product Planning to translate customer needs into product features, resolves customer need or feature conflicts, and keeps current the sales projections for the project. • Takes active role in Annual Operating Planning process. • Takes active role in Strategic Planning process. • 20% - 25% Travel required. Basic Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Business, physiology, biology, Engineering, or health science or Business degree. AND 4 years business experience in Marketing and/or Engineering in Medical Device, Pharma, or Health Care fields OR MBA and 2 years of experience (listed above) Desired/Preferred Qualifications * Master’s degree (MBA) or equivalent * 4 - 7 years experience in marketing or engineering * Related experience and knowledge of Drug Delivery Therapies * Advanced knowledge of marketing principles and clinical/technical understanding of company products. s. • 8 Years related business experience (i.e. marketing or engineering experience in Medical Device, Pharma, or Health Care fields) SKILLS/COMPETENCIES • Strategic Thinking – Ability to project possible future outcomes and scenarios based on available data. Proven influence management skills and ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment. • Results Orientation – Ability to effectively plan, organize, monitor, execute, and measure success of a project. Anticipates potential issues and develops contingency plans. • Sales Interface – Demonstrates well-developed understanding of the sales process and sales issues as they apply to setting goals & strategies, meeting objectives, or development and execution of tactical activities. Physical Job Requirements •Vision must be correctable to 20/20 in one eye. •Must be able to stand/sit/walk for 8 hours a day. •Sit/work in front of a computer screen for up to 8 hours per day. |
