Responsibilities: Physical Therapist in an outpatient setting will evaluate, carry out physical therapy programs to restore function and minimize disability following disease, injury, or genetically acquired disabilities. Plans and uses therapies involving physical exercise, massage, heat, water, light and electricity. Utilizes mechanical & electrical equipment and prosthetic and orthotic devices. Evaluates, records and reports on patient response to treatment and identify goals. Will integrate physical therapy treatments with other aspects of patient care. Will assist patients to reach levels of function and to meet with limitations. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as using computerized documentation systems. Instructs and educates patients and their families. Assist in patient discharge plans. Will be involved in orientations and mentoring of new staff members. Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy. B.S. or M.S. in Physical Therapy. State licensure as a Physical Therapist. Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider. Critical thinking skills, ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, kneeling, lifting patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds. |
