General Dynamics IT has an opening for a Senior GIS Systems Engineer in Bay St. Louis, MS. Position requires an Active Secret Security clearance. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: • Port current ASW Multi-Criteria Analysis Toolkit (MCAT) capability into Ozone Widget Framework (OWF) on the NITES Fielded (NF) / NITES-Next (NN) compliant architecture • Use the Command and Control Rapid Prototype Capability WWIRCOP widget for geospatial input and output • Define requirements for system port using Use Cases • Develop code for system port • Create DODAF architecture drawings • Design and perform both unit tests and user-driven, interactive tests to ensure connection integrity in disconnected/intermittent/low-bandwidth (DIL) environments • Document the programmatic aspects of fielding and sustaining the system including issues • Formulates and defines system scope and objectives. • Prepares detailed specifications for programs. • Designs, codes, tests, debug and documents programs. • Works at the highest technical level of all phases of applications, systems analysis and programming activities including the installation of enhancements, security features, and analytical tools. • Provides guidance and training to less experienced analysts/programmers. • Performs a variety of systems engineering tasks and activities independently, which are broad in nature and are concerned with major systems design, integration, and implementation, including personnel, hardware, software, budgetary, and support facilities and/or equipment.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a curriculum or major field of study which provides substantial knowledge useful in managing large, complex AIS projects, is closely related to the work to be automated, and/or in a computer science, information system, a physical science, engineering or a mathematics-intensive discipline, or an applicable training certificate from an accredited training institution.
Essential Qualifications: • ASW METOC mission support • ESRI ARCGIS Desktop version 10.1, or a CJMTK equivalent version • Ozone Widget Framework • 5 years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in performing systems analysis, development, and implementation for business, mathematical, engineering or scientific settings using a variety of information technology resources. Has experience with current technologies and, where required for the task, emerging technologies.
