GENERAL PURPOSE Responsible for installation, administration, & support of personal computer based networks, operating systems & application software. Additionally responsible for operating systems & software application packages. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The following is a non-exclusive list of essential duties & responsibilities. The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Install & maintain personal computers, printers, peripherals, & network servers. Provide hardware support for personal computers, backup devices & associated networks. Provide software & operating system support for personal computers, backup devices, & associated networks. Review requirements & recommend the configuration & selection of personal computers & related equipment. Review requirements & recommend the selection of personal computer operating systems & application software. Troubleshoot & resolve hardware & software problems. Provide user assistance as required. Provide audio Visual System Support as required. Perform other duties as assigned. OTHER DUTIES (Non-Essential Job Functions) Attend appropriate safety training regarding your job duties. Attend safety meetings of at least 30 minutes in duration, quarterly. Report safety violations or safety hazards to the Safety Office as soon as possible after awareness. All employees are required to notify their supervisor & the Safety Office of any sub-standard working conditions. MINIMUM TRAINING & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Associate degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field required. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field desired. Three years experience installing, configuring, & supporting personal computers, networks, & associated operating systems & software applications. Three years Novell operating system installation & system administration experience. Two years Microsoft Windows Server & SQL server system administration & installation experience. Two years experience providing support for Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, & Novell GroupWise. Judgment & Situational Reasoning Ability Ability to use good personal judgment & discretion in performing all job functions. Physical Requirements Regularly required to sit, bend, stoop & stand. Occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs. Environmental Adaptability Noise level is generally equivalent to typical office environment. Ability to work in an environment which may expose employee to hazardous materials & environment. Occasional visits to construction sites where noise level may be higher than typical office environment.
