Job Profile
Our client, a world class $12B organization that’s in a strong growth mode, is looking for an experienced Assembly Engineer to join their team in the assembly area to develop and evaluate new processes, and improve the current assembly process. You’ll improve efficiencies and overall productivity in the manufacture of new and existing products. The assembly function is a mix of high and low volume assembly, and the facility is located an hour north of St. Paul, Minnesota.
This is a high profile position that doesn’t have any direct reports at this time, but you’ll mentor and train junior level manufacturing engineers and new employees, so you must have the ability to work with people on a cross-functional basis. Within three to five years of successfully performing in this role, you’ll be slated to advance into a management role.
To be qualified for this position you’ll have strong Six Sigma / Lean experience, and mistake-proofing / poka yoke / error-proofing, as well as strong experience in automated assembly equipment and the ability to develop and design fixtures and tooling.. A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering field is required, as well as five or more years experience in a final assembly area. A relocation package may be available for this position, but at this time we’re only considering candidates from the upper Midwest area.
