Orthopedic Surgeon Jobs

An orthopaedic surgeon position may be available with any hospital or clinic. An orthopaedic surgeon is responsible for performing surgery on patients to cure physical ailments relating to bones. Specific duties of an orthopaedic surgeon include examining the patient, finding out the exact place in the body and reason for the ailment, finding out the severity of the problem, performing the surgery with help from hospital staff, ensuring that the surgery goes on as desired, studying patient history, coordinating with physicians, meeting patient's family members, advising the patient and family members and performing other tasks as required. An orthopaedic surgeon typically reports to a medical director.
An orthopaedic surgeon should have a master's degree in the area through a recognised university. Excellent academic credentials are required. Prior experience working as an orthopaedic surgeon is advantageous.
