The official reports from the Vedanta Aluminium Limited reveals that the company is planning to lay off its employees at its alumina refinery, located in Kalahandi district of Odisha, due to the scarcity of bauxite. The officials of the company have also revealed that they are planning to retrench some people, after consulting with the state authorities, as the revival of the plant in near future seems a long shot. The initial estimate of the number of people going to get canned is somewhere in between 10 to 100 depending on the plant condition.
