This article highlighted the problems of doctors for getting licenses in Illinois. The licensing delays could happen because 18 of 26 positions in the medical unit are targeted to be eliminated. It is plans to lay off investigators. According to the agency, the cuts are needed because the legislature didn’t act to bail out the medical watchdog unit.
