Taking into account that job growth in 2012 averaged 181,000 jobs, the performance in January, during which employers hired 157,000 jobs, is not bad. There’s recovery, although it’s taking place at a slow pace. There are enough indications that the hiring may pick up in the coming months, particularly in sectors such as construction, healthcare and retail. And that augurs well for the future of the U.S. economy.
