Golden Gate Bridge Toll-Takers Get Layoff Notices In Advance Of All-Electronic …

Beginning March 27 the Golden Gate Bridge toll system is going all electronic. This technological advancement will result in the layoff of nine full-time and 29 part time employees. The automation of the system is a result of a budget deficit of approximately 66 million. The layoffs are expected to save the city 16 million over the course of 8 years.
