MGM Mirage is preparing to hire 12,000 workers in Las Vegas. In doing so, MGM opened theCityCenter Employment Center to handle screenings and interviews. In the first week alone, 35,000 people had applied online.
The amount of applications represents an unfortunate sign of the times in Las Vegas as their unemployment rate rises and people struggle to keep their homes. The opening is a positive step in rebuilding the Las Vegas economy.
The center is open from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m., Monday through Friday until the $9 billion project opens.
