According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Sedgwick County, Kansas saw a 1.8 percent employment increase, making it the 25th largest from June 2007-June 2008 for the 335 largest counties in the United States.
The county also saw a 1.3 percent employment increase from the second quarter of 2007 to 2008.
Sedgwick, Shawnee, Wyandotte, and Johnson county — the four Kansas counties polled— each saw an over-the-year increase in employment.
Orleans County, Louisiana, which includes New Orleans, had the largest increase, climbing 5.6 percent.
