Sometimes without our fault we land in a difficult work environment. If you are in a similar situation, don't worry. You can survive, thrive and stay healthy even without a friendly and supportive work atmosphere. Here is how.

Forget about chance: Don't leave your career to chance and fate. Match your profile of ideal career and the employer. Highlight your ideal corporate structure, management styles and corporate values. Speak up. Don't wait for the employers to begin discussion about job performance and expectations. Find out how you are faring and see if you are making efforts to come up to the expectations of your manager.

Have better relationships: You must work for fostering better relationship with your colleagues. If you can do that you can perform well. There should not be any place for personal differences to hinder your working and stand in the way of building better working relationships.

Accept the contribution of your coworkers and give them credit to their achievement. Success doesn't come because of one man; it comes through team work.

Learning is continuous: You must keep learning. You should not think that you know everything and there is nothing to learn.

Respect the wisdom of others:
Find a mentor who has the skills and insight you need. The find need not be all-perfect.

The balance:
If you think only of your job, you will surely be a loser. You will be exhausted if don't keep a healthy balance between life and work. Don't allow your work to dominate your personal life.

Social interaction:
You can strengthen your professional relationship if you interact on a non-work level with your colleagues. Some companies have social committees that plan events that relieve work-related stress.

Damage control:
We fail at some point of our careers. We lose our jobs also. No need to worry. Accept your faults and your share of the blame and try to learn a lesson from every failure.

Follow your passion: You do well when you do what you love. Choose a career and job that you passionately want. If you are not passionate about something, you don't have time to do it.
