Marketing management is required for the success of any company. This is done in order to meet the organizational objectives of the business. Every business needs to market its products, and thus there is a need of a person who can make strategies to do this task. Marketing and advertising are the pillars of the success of a company, and includes online marketing, promotion through audio-visual media, and other related modes.

The job of a marketing manager involves developing, maintaining and establishing marketing strategies for the company that the person works for. The main job responsibilities of a marketing manager are focused on advertising the products and services of the company. The marketing manager will have to manage the promotional and staff activities that are being performed in the company. They also have to conduct market research to know the requirements of the market and the needs of the people. Customer and competitor research is also to be done by the marketing manager. This helps them determine the future products of the company.

There is a set budget for marketing the products of the company, which is taken care of by the marketing, and all strategies are focused on the same. It will be the duty of the manager to determine the pricing strategy for the products, and attract targeted traffic. Communicating with the media is another task that the marketing manager has to perform.

The marketing manager should have excellent written and communication skills so that they can interact with the media and their colleagues. Problem solving, quick decision making, convincing team members and associates, and being patient are vital skills required by the marketing manager.

Technical marketing skills are also required for grabbing a good paying job in this industry. A bachelor degree in marketing management, along with an MBA or master's degree is essential for procuring such jobs.

The average median salary for the marketing managers is around $85,606, which can go up or down depending on your job experience, or the company that you work for.

This is a good field for people who are creative and can make good and effective strategies for marketing of products and services. Marketing managers are on top positions already but they still have scope for growth including the post of a CEO.
