If you are in an IT job, you probably have dealt with several situations where no clear solution seems to be in sight. For most computer users, any problem that occurs with their machine calls for the expertise of someone involved in software jobs or even programmer jobs.

What happens if you receive this message from Windows: “No Audio Device”?

In all likelihood, it means that the sound card is not installed properly.

An improperly installed sound card will lead to your audio devices not working as they are meant to. Improperly installed could also mean a faulty connection to the motherboard or the lack of an audio controller. At times, and one of the very common reasons, it is the incompatibility of the device with the motherboard of your computer.

You don’t really need to be an expert inIT jobs if you are looking for ways to resolve this problem. But this is a basic knowledge that all IT professionals are required to have if they need to do their jobs. Here are a few methods that could work.

Checking for Hardware: Test the hardware installed in your computer. In case of improper installation, the computer will not be able to detect the card at all. If needed, uninstall the sound card and clear any drivers as well. Then, reboot the machine and make sure the programs associated with the faulty devices are no longer present on the computer. You can then install the sound card and devices in a fresh installation.

If needed, visit the website for that particular hardware and check for any product updates. It is possible that the fault occurred due to missing updates.

An important job responsibility of an IT professional is the requirement to troubleshoot.

If the newly installed sound card still continues to give trouble, try installing another one. This will also give a good indication of whether the trouble lies in the card or in the system itself.

As a last recourse, you could also check out manufacturing details, and if needed, enlist the help of the manufacturer.
