COMPENSATION SPECIALIST - CHESAPEAKE, VA','HUM08842','!*!COMPENSATION ANALYSTJOB SUMMARYThe Compensation Analyst is responsible for analyzing and effectively administering Dollar Tree’s compensation plan, programs, and policies.  The position is responsible for the day-to-day administration of compensation programs, conducting external market analysis, and analysis of existing and future compensation programs.  Duties include conducting position evaluations, job classifications, preparing job descriptions, assessing the budgetary impact of compensation decisions and providing oversight of compliance with regulations and labor laws. RESPONSIBILITIES  

Analyze and provide analytical support for all compensation programs

Assist with all compensation components of the annual performance process, including,  salary planning, bonus accrual and calculations, and equity grant administration for all associates in the Company

Act in an Administrator capacity for the Company’s incentive compensation tool (IBM Varicent). 

Analyze compensation-related data and information and provide recommendations to the team for implementation or enhancements to current programs, specifically for incentive compensation plans

Conduct compensation analysis to determine Company’s competitive position and to set appropriate promotional and hiring pay levels based on internal rates, performance levels, and external job and market pay comparisons

Ensure documentation for bonus and incentive plans is in place and up to date. 

Work with internal business partners to assist in creating new job descriptions, as necessary. 

Partner with HR leadership to evaluate, update, and communicate compensation programs

Assist in the development of compensation education and training materials.

Participate on projects such as custom market studies, incentive proposals geographic differential analysis

Collaborate with all areas of the business to assist with the design and implementation of incentive plans


2 to 3 years experience with compensation

Working knowledge of job evaluation and job analysis systems

Bachelors in Human Resources, Business or Finance

Experience with retail or sales compensation desired

Advanced Excel

Previous experience with compensation analysis

Knowledge in FLSA
