Steelcase is seeking a smart, energetic, Category Communications Manager to support the development of Communications campaigns for our key global product launches.
The Category Communications Manager is a strategic, experienced communications professional who leads product communications strategy to help meet company goals. He or she will come with proven experience in account management and client relations, excellent writing and presentation skills, ability to evaluate creative work and a strong attention to detail. He or she must be comfortable working in a shifting, fast-paced environment and will be a quick study across a variety of topical issues, client industries, channels and communication platforms.
Translates product and marketing insights to communication/creative solutions
Guides strategy on assigned projects (internally and externally) across global regions
Collaborates with internal and agency teams to guide communications and message development
Provides strategic direction for major products support
Has strong awareness across media landscape (e.g., digital, social and traditional)
Has a strong understanding of data – and how to apply and measure
Account Management & Client Relations:
Demonstrate confidence and POV ownership as the voice of product communications
Is curious about and conversant in the product business –key issues, competitive situation and industry trends
Develops and executes strategic programs, projects, and initiatives – and ensures all deadlines and budget expectations are met
Showcases the ability to lead and establish rapport and trust with other team members
Demonstrates a clear, comfortable, persuasive presentation style for both formal and informal audiences
Works closely with Director of Product Communications and Communications Project Manager to deliver on responsible projects
8 years of account management experience, with a minimum of two (2) years as an Account Supervisor
Track record of growing business and exceeding results
Entrepreneurial self-starter with a desire to be part of a small team making a big impact
Relentless attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Strong strategic thinking and presentations skills
Willingness to be a change agent and help the organizational evolve its processes
