Job Summary:

With responsibility for leading PR strategy and execution for the Northwest region of a Fortune 500 company, the Manager, Communications will be part of an evolving team of marketing professionals who can collaborate to serve the growing marketing and communications needs the business in one of the country’s most dynamic markets. The primary responsibilities of this position include leading media relations strategy and execution in the Northwest Region, as well as overseeing the integration of PR and social media strategy for maximum impact with key audiences. This role will have specific oversight for both social media strategy and execution in the region, as well as for social media training for sales professionals. Candidates should be full of ideas and energy—able to work seamlessly with a highly motivated group of marketing, research, management and sales professionals, and able to create and execute on opportunities that position our organization and our professionals as market leaders. This is a high profile role—internally and externally—that requires close partnership with our Regional Leadership Team to effect change in our overall approach to communications, across all channels.


Develop and execute a solid and measurable PR strategy that aligns with our business goals, our Americas PR strategy, and keeps our organization relevant—across both traditional and non-traditional media.

Foster strong and lasting relationships across relevant media, and maintain ongoing dialogue that leads to opportunities for our organization and our professionals.

Drive social media strategy strategy and execution, with direct responsibility for all social channels, including Twitter and LinkedIn, as well as for training CBRE sales professionals on social selling strategies.

Sponsorship and event activation—from identifying and assessing opportunities to concept development and execution, including media events that act as a platform to position our professionals as subject matter experts and secure media coverage on timely topics.

Active engagement with our professionals, at every level, to help media become a tool that supports their business development efforts. This includes working with local leadership on media initiatives that support overall business objectives.

Develop and execute media training to help our professionals learn how to handle press inquiries and represent themselves and the organization appropriately.

Internal and external media management to counteract inaccurate or questionable information reported, and effectively managing communication with all involved parties.

Remain up to date on all aspects of the industry in order to identify opportunities where our research and professionals can add to the conversation, and help establish our organization as a go-to resource for the media.

Write and distribute press releases across a variety of topics, from notable deals to significant promotions and hires to market insights and more.

Maintain relationships with our national counterparts in Americas Marketing and Americas Research, and work with the Director to adapt national initiatives locally.


Strong writing and communication skills. Able to facilitate relationships and communication with brokers, leadership, across departments, as well as with media and vendors.

Excellent social media knowledge and expertise. Ability to develop and drive social media strategy, as well as execution.

Collaborative attitude. Adept at building internal relationships/dialogue to facilitate process. Able to serve several audiences while remaining committed to generating the right result.

Can think strategically and be proactive with ideas/opportunities. Able to comprehend, analyze and interpret market information and situations to create actionable ideas that positively impact the organization and its professionals.

Solid organizational, project management and multi-tasking skills that engage people across staff and departments, and allow projects to move forward based on priorities and deadlines.

Strong attention to detail, including strong proofreading capabilities and interest in achieving the highest quality deliverables and outcomes possible.

Strong managerial skills, including ability to manage up, down and across the organization. Can be an influencer within team and across departments to build consensus and motivate others. “Gets things done” but can also contribute to building and communicating long-term vision.

Energetic, enthusiastic and people-oriented. Enjoys working with different personalities and can adapt to/accommodate others’ working styles to get things done.

Service-oriented and responsive. Works well under deadlines. Knows how to prioritize, keep projects running smoothly and manage the expectations of everyone involved.

Experienced communications professional. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 5 years of related experience. Knowledge of commercial real estate (or a related industry) is a plus, but is not required.
